INTERVIEW WITH MICHAEL DIMUCCIO, A DIRECT SALES ENTREPRENEUR!
Direct Selling
I certainly didn’t want to miss an opportunity to meet Michael DiMuccio for a short interview. He was recently in Montreal for a day of training and motivation (held in the Montreal region) for the representatives of this world-renowned wellness business.
I had to be ready to interview him right after his last speech, just before his flight to Toronto. Mr. DiMuccio is a very likeable person, quite unaffected, charismatic, and extremely generous with his time. I didn’t want to miss this opportunity because I love my work as a publisher; it provides so many opportunities to meet successful entrepreneurs and benefit from their rich experience and what they have learned about life. I always find it highly motivating, and I’m sure that our readers feel the same way.
Here follows a summary of my conversation with this generous man, who wanted to share some of his experience with our readers. So, in the words of Mr. DiMuccio :
Independent of the network you are in, the keys to successful marketing are as follows:
1. Sell the business opportunity, not the product or service!
“This is the key to getting the most out of the leverage offered by network marketing. Doing otherwise leads us straight into the classic trap of conventional sales: one sale, one commission, and that’s all. People get involved in network or relational marketing specifically for the superior compensation system, which is fairer than what we find in so-called "normal" businesses. It’s the only system that provides commissions on sales made in the customer networks of the entrepreneurs we’ve recruited. So why is it that thousands of people who own their own direct sales businesses still don’t get it?”
2. Demonstrate exemplary integrity.
“You have to say what you think, and think what you say. Otherwise, the public will see the lack of integrity. Without integrity, our teams and our networks won’t work over the long term.”
3. Be a team player.
“If you’re the ‘popular’ type, always full of yourself, network sales isn’t for you. It’s like baseball and hockey; winning always depends on the team’s performance, not on a superstar.”
4. Be in network marketing for a reason that excites you.
“Even if you don’t know anything about direct marketing or network marketing, you need to dive in, telling yourself that ‘ignorance on fire is better than knowledge on ice.’ People in the industry know that this is a system that delivers an excellent quality of life, since you can make your dreams come true, all on your own. Dreams like buying your parents a home, taking an earlier retirement, spending more time with your family, setting yourself a goal of having a residual income of $500 per month, taking a trip around the world, or simply being able to look forward to more time for yourself, or a better quality of life, etc.”
